Oak and Grist Distilling Company is searching for a quality focused, technically inclined, enthusiastic addition to our tight knit growing company. Your role in the distillery will not be singular and you will be participating in all aspects of brewing, distilling, packaging, and our maturation program (and yes cleaning up from all of the previously mentioned tasks). We expect exceptional record keeping, procedural competency, and communication. In addition to your work in production, anticipate conveying your ever-growing wealth of knowledge to distillery visitors in our commitment to transparency. A passion for our locally grown, grain-to-glass methods is a must, as is the desire to learn, grow, and innovate. Previous experience not required.

Applicants applying for this position will be at times be solely responsible for any aspect of the production process. These tasks include but are not limited to:

 
  • Grain Receiving

  • Milling

  • Brewing

  • Fermentation

  • Distillation

  • Making cuts during the distillation process

  • Detailed record keeping during every step

  • Gauging spirits accurately to bottle and barrel proof

 
  • Bottling

  • Labeling

  • Prepping, filling, and moving barrels

  • Operating a forklift

  • Cleaning, cleaning, and more cleaning

  • Guiding tours and tastings

  • Onsite distillery sales and accurate record keeping of sales made in accordance with state laws

  • Inventory Management

 

Candidates must be capable of lifting at least 50 pounds, and standing for extended periods of time in warm environment. Need to be at least 21 years. Exhibit the ability to shift tasks quickly to meet the demands of any given day, while maintaining situational awareness. Seeking applicants able to work a 40 hour week.
