Barrel Blending Workshop

Join us in the distillery to discover how Oak & Grist approaches blending barrels for our American Single Malt Whiskies.

During this intimate workshop the founder William Goldberg and head of production Charles Stanley will uncover the nuances of how we make our Single Malt. You will get an opportunity to try our new make whiskey alongside a selection of barrels to help illustrate how the barrel is influencing the whiskey. You will then blend your very own whiskey from those barrels!

Here is the shake down of how the workshop will go:

  • We will start with an overview of Single Malt Whiskey and how we do things here at Oak & Grist

  • You will then get to try our new make whiskey alongside 4 casks to explore how different barrels influence flavor and aroma development guided by our founder and head of production

  • Each attendee will then get to create their own custom blend from those four barrels

  • Once you have decided on your blend, you will then fill and label your very own custom bottle of whiskey to take home with you

Cancelation policy

  • All ticket sales are final and non-refundable. If you cannot attend tickets can be transferred to another individual.

If registration for your desired date is full, you can email info@oakandgrist.com to be placed on the waitlist in the event that space opens up.

The Power of Proof: Understanding why Alcohol Content Matters

The Power of Proof: Understanding why Alcohol Content Matters

Guests will explore how Oak & Grist decides what strength our spirits go into our bottles at. To many it may seem inconsequential, however the alcohol content of any spirit on the shelf drives what flavors and aroma are presented in the glass. We will be exploring this as it relates to a yet to be released Single Malt Whiskey, as such attendees will help choose what this release goes into the bottle at!

We will cover how to proof spirits and try the upcoming release at varying %abv, discussing the positives and the negatives at each. At the end guests will cast their vote for what bottle strength should be for this release. Each attendee will leave with a Glencairn (for proper nosing at home) and get first access to this new Single Malt when it is released.
